I “host” a Facebook page for cancer survivors (see Christian Cancer Support). Yesterday, I asked our group for the most encouraging Bible passage/verse for them. Here is a really cool mashup of their submitted favorites.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
“I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
“Be still and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
“By his stripes we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:3
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable.” — 1 Corinthians 15:58
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
“I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done.” — Psalm 118:17
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her.”
— Luke 1:45 (a breast cancer survivor)
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
“Let us hold fast to the confession of our HOPE without wavering,
for He who has promised is FAITHFUL.” — Hebrews 10:23
Amen.
Beautiful !!!
